Operation Hillmore: IMB alerts minister to serious concerns    

The IMB has today raised serious concerns about Operation Hillmore, the UK-France returns pilot. In a letter to the newly appointed Minister for Border Security and Asylum, Anna Turley MP, Interim National Chair Jane Leech raises concerns around the detention of children and vulnerable people, access to legal support, safeguarding processes and prolonged detention. The IMB considers these issues sufficiently serious to warrant alerting the minister directly and making its concerns a matter of public record, while calling for greater scrutiny of the scheme’s impact.
